Prickly-eared folded-leg [1] ( lat. Nyctinomops aurispinosus ) is a species of bats in the folded-lip family.

The species is common in Brazil , Colombia , Ecuador , Mexico , Paraguay and Peru . It lives in tropical forests at an altitude of 0 to 3150 meters above sea level.
The total length is 11 cm. Weight - 17-18.9 g. Males are slightly larger than females. The color of the back is usually dark brown, but varies from reddish brown to gray-brown with individual dorsal hairs about 4 mm long, hair is almost white at the base, belly is slightly paler than the back. The ears are large, wrinkled and connected at the base, like other members of the genus. Dental formula : I 1/2, C 1/1, P 2/2, M 3/3, a total of 30.
It leads a nocturnal lifestyle, hiding during the day in gorges and inside caves. It feeds mainly on soft-bodied insects (night butterflies). Females give birth in the spring of one cub per year.
