Competitions

The winter season of 2005 marked the beginning of a new Olympic cycle, in connection with which a number of leaders missed it for restoration purposes. This can explain not the highest results of the Russian Indoor Championship - 2005.

Wrestling unfolded at a distance of 400 meters among women. Only one hundredth of a second separated the winner, Svetlana Pospelova , from the silver medalist, Irina Rosikhina - 51.57 against 51.58.

Larisa Zhao showed another great result, having already had 1.57.53 time in the 800 meters race (the best in the world) [2] . At the Russian Championship, she confirmed her class, “running out” of 2 minutes (1.59.76) and not leaving her competitors any chance of success.

The highest world achievement among young people (under 23 years of age) was set up in a steeple-chese Marina Ivanova , who became the silver medalist of the competitions - 9.35,33. The champion in this discipline, Lyubov Ivanova , showed the 2nd time in the world in the entire history of its holding - 9.27,57. To her record set last 2004, she lost about 6 seconds [3] .

In the sector for the pole vault , only 4 female athletes performed at the women, while one of them failed to cope with the initial height. Julia Golubchikova became the champion with a low result of 4.30 m. At the same time, simultaneously with the championship of Russia, in Donetsk at the competition " Stars of the pole " Elena Isinbayeva , freed from the selection in Volgograd , set a new world record , taking the bar at a height of 4.87 m [4] .

In 2005, the last time in the program of official international winter starts was a 200 meter run . Since 2006, the titles of world and European champions have not been played at this distance. In the program of the championships of Russia in the room, the distance was preserved, but no longer wore the status of qualifying for the national team.
