Biography
The son of the provincial secretary of the city of Vologda .
Received secondary education in the Kharkov gymnasium . In 1891 he graduated from the Kiev Infantry Junker School , from which he was released as second lieutenant to the 2nd Novogeorgievsky Fortress Infantry Battalion.
Ranks: lieutenant (1895), staff captain (1900), captain (1903), lieutenant colonel (1905), colonel (1910), major general (for distinction, 1914).
He participated in the Russian-Japanese war as part of the 124th Voronezh Infantry Regiment . He was wounded twice - for the second time, in a battle near the village of Guantong, the left arm was torn off by a grenade rupture at Noskov. For military distinctions he was awarded two orders, the Golden Weapon “For Courage” , as well as the rank of captain and lieutenant colonel.
He continued his service in the 35th Bryansk Infantry Regiment , and commanded a company and a battalion. With the outbreak of World War I, he was appointed commander of the 239th Infantry Regiment of Konstantinograd, which was deployed from the frame of the 9th Infantry Division . In July 1915 he was appointed commander of the brigade of the 71st Infantry Division , and on August 21 of the same year, the 60th Infantry Division . January 29, 1917 was appointed commander of the 184th Infantry Division. On May 27, 1917, the 734th Infantry Preškan Regiment was killed at the front.
