Biography

Lucas was born in Lithuania, but at the age of 6 he emigrated with his mother to Switzerland . The family lived in Basel - the capital of the German-speaking semi-canton Basel-Stadt on the border with Germany and France. He attended a German school there.

Career

In clubs

At the junior level, Lucas began to play for the club " Weil 1910 " from the German town of Weil am Rhein , which is three kilometers from Basel downstream of the Rhine . Then he moved to the club " Freiburg " from the center of the local district of Freiburg ( Germany ).

In the summer of 2012 he joined the junior team of the Danish “ Aalborg ”. From the 2013/14 season, Spalvis began to play for the adult Aalborg team, from which he immediately issued the golden double , winning the championship and the Cup . True, in the championship season 2014/15 “ Aalborg ” failed, taking only fifth place.

He received the nickname “Zweimal” (“Zweimal” or twice, double), since in the summer of 2015 he scored doubles five times in a row in the Danish Championship. In the first round, scored 14 goals in 17 games, which gave rise to rumors about his possible transfer to one of the elite clubs in Europe.

Recognized as the best Lithuanian footballer in 2015 [1] . In April, Spalvis was 21 - he became the second youngest winner after Arminas Narbekovas , who was recognized as the best at the age of 20. Spalvis is now considered by experts to be the best Lithuanian footballer [2] .

In 2016, he moved to the Portuguese Sporting Club. During the preseason match, he was seriously injured. By the end of the year began training. In order to recover in the form of fitness, in January 2017 until the end of the season, he was rented out in Belenenshish . He stayed there for 9 days and returned to Sporting . From the 2017/18 season, he plays for Kaiserslautern in the second and third Bundesliga.

In national teams

As part of the junior team of Lithuania, Spalvis took part in all three matches of his team at the 2013 European U-21 European Home Championship . As part of the youth team, he participated in the qualifying games for the European Championship 2015 , where he distinguished himself three times in six meetings and also became the fourth in the 2013 Commonwealth Cup .

On September 10, 2013, Spalvis got into the application of the Lithuanian team for the qualifying match for the 2014 World Cup against Liechtenstein [3] . On March 5, 2014, Lucas made his debut as a member of the country's main national team in a friendly match with Kazakhstan , in May became the second team in the Baltic Cup with the team, and on June 6 he scored his first goal in the international arena, hitting the gates of the Polish team in a friendly match.
