Biography
He underwent training under the guidance of Leningrad coach Dmitry Panteleimonovich Polyakov [1] .
In 1960, he won the bronze medal of the Olympic Games in Rome in the team pursuit. In 1962, he won the bronze medal at the World Championships, and won the gold medal at the 1963 World Championships.
In 1963 he graduated from the Institute of Textile and Light Industry. SM Kirov , after which his life was inextricably linked with this institute: he was a junior researcher, head of the academic department, head of the department, dean, vice-rector, and since 1988 - rector. Under his leadership, the institute in 1992 was transformed into St. Petersburg State University of Technology and Design. Since 2007, is the president of the university.
