Creativity
Author of landscapes and compositions on historical topics. Among the works are a series of drawings of the coats of arms of Lithuanian and Belarusian cities for The Lithuanian Herbarium, which was published at the beginning of the 20th century in the Vilnius magazines Kwartalnik Litewski (The Lithuanian Quarter ) and Litwa I Rus (Lithuania and Russia). A graphic series of portraits is dedicated to Polish figures - these are portraits of the kings Lech , Krak , Bag II , Piast , Kosciuszko, Tadeusz Kosciuszko , Emperor Napoleon , poet Adam Mickiewicz [4] .
Under the guidance of his teacher, Jan Matejko took part in the design of the Mariacki Church in Krakow: he created stained glass windows with Jozef Mekhoffer and Stanislav Vyspiansky [5] [6] .
When there was hope for autonomy of the Belarusian-Polish Lithuania, Dmokhovsky created and published in 1910 the alleged coat of arms of Lithuania. The artist clearly proceeded from the coat of arms of the Vilna province of 1878, the new elements were the Yagellonian cross and the small princely crown. The positions of the horse and the sword corresponded to the image of the pursuit of the late Commonwealth - in defense, but the horseman depicted more closely clung to the horse. Of the submitted projects, this was determined to be the best, and it became the basis for future images of the Chase in other years [7] .
In 1912, Tadeusz Dmokhowski reconstructed the coat of arms of the Lithuanian town of Babtai ( Kaunas County ) in 1792 blason; this option was officially used in interwar Lithuania until 1940. Then he published the coat of arms of the city of Kalwaria (now Mariampol County ) with the sides rearranged by him and the royal crown. This emblem was used by the Lithuanian authorities in 1922-1940, as were the emblems of the city of Seduva (now Šiauliai county ), the cities of Retavas and Veksniai (now both are Telšiai county ), the town of Uzhpalyai (now Utena county ) and the city of Šiauliai .
In the latter, T. Dmokhovsky, relying on the coat of arms of 1791, placed three figures on a round shield: a bear, Providence, and a calf. Instead of a princely hat, symbolizing the principality of Zhemaitiy , he painted a stylized three-leaf royal crown [8] .
In 2005, a coin was issued in Vilnius dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Vilnius Sejm (1905) with the coat of arms painted by Tadeusz Dmokhovski [9] .
