Zoupin

Zouping ( Chinese р 邹平 , pinyin : Zōupíng ) is a city ​​county in the Binzhou city ​​district of Shandong Province ( PRC ). Formally, it is considered a city county directly subordinate to the government of Shandong province (山东 省 辖 县级 市), which delegates authority to manage it to the Binzhou city district (滨州 市 代管).

History

In the Zhou era in these places there was a specific ownership of Zou.

Under the Western Han Empire, the counties of Zouping (邹平 县) and Liangzou (梁 邹县) were created. During the Southern and Northern Dynasties of the Southern Song Dynasty, Zouping County was disbanded, and Wuqiang (武 强县) and Pingyuan (平原 县) counties were created.

Under the Sui Empire, in 598, Pingyuan County was renamed Zouping, and Wuqiang County was renamed Changshan.

Under the Mongol Empire, Yuan in 1253, Jidong County (齐 东 县) was created from parts of the Zouping and Zhangqiu counties.

In 1943, Changshan County was renamed Yaonan (耀南 县) - in honor of the commander of the Shandong Column of the 8th Army, Ma Yaonan, who fell in these places in a battle with the Japanese in July 1937. In 1950, the Yangan County was returned to the name Changshan

In 1950, Jidong County became part of the Huimin Special Region (惠民 专区), while Zouping and Changshan counties became part of the Zibo Special Region (淄博 专区). In 1953, the Zouping and Changshan counties were transferred to the Huimin Special District. In 1956, Changshan County was annexed to Zouping County, and Gaoqing County was annexed to Jidong County. In 1958, Huimein Special District was merged with Zibo City into Zibo Special District (淄博 专区), with Jidong County divided between Zouping and Bosin counties. In 1961, the Huimin Special District was rebuilt, and Gaoqing County was reallocated from it. In 1967, Huimin Special District was renamed Huimin County (惠民 地区). In 1992, Huimin County was renamed Binzhou County (滨州 地区).

In 2000, the Binzhou District was disbanded by a decision of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, and the Binzhou City District was formed instead.

By the Decree of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China of July 2, 2018 (entered into force on October 26, 2018), Zouping County was transformed into a city county directly subordinate to the government of Shandong Province, which delegates its administration to the authorities of the Binzhou city district.
