Mundlos, Uwe

Uwe Mundlos was born on August 11, 1973 in the city of Jena . His mother was a saleswoman, and his father Siegfried Mundlos was a mathematician at the University of Jena, and since the beginning of the 90s - a professor of computer science at the University of Applied Sciences in Jena.

Uwe Mundlos was a member of the pioneer organization named after Ernst Thälmann and the Union of Free German Youth of the GDR . By the summer of 1989, he studied at the Polytechnic High School named after Magnus Posera. Left school after 10th grade. Later he tried to enter the Ilmenau College Institute.

In 1991, Mundlos joins the Winzerklan youth club in the Wienzerla Jena district, where Uwe Bönhardt and Beata Zshepe regularly meet. In 1993, due to the radical political views, Zshepe, Bönhardt and Mundlos were denied access to the club. Later, Zshepe, Bönhardt and Mundlos joined the Jena fraternity of the Thuringian Homeland Defense , created in 1996 on the basis of the Anti-Antifa organization. In the Jena Brotherhood, Mundlos served as deputy cell leader.

In 1994 - 1995, Uwe Mundlos served compulsory military service in the Bundeswehr . During the service, he continued extremist activities: singing right songs, carrying his own business card with the image of Adolf Hitler and the image of Rudolf Hess . For this reason, the company commander requested permission for the disciplinary arrest of Mundlos within 7 days. Uwe Mundlos was taken into custody, officers searched his apartment and found 15 recordings of right-hand music and the NPD brochure. This was not a criminal offense and his arrest was canceled. Despite the unconstitutional activities, Mundlos received a promotion in the Bundeswehr.

Since the mid-90s, Uwe Mundlos, Uwe Bönhardt and Beate Zshepe have been engaged in neo-Nazi activities. On suspicion of involvement in the activities of right-wing extremists, on January 26, 1998, searches were carried out in the homes of Mundlos, Bönhardt and Zshepe and in a rented garage in Jena. Four homemade bombs, 1.4 kg of TNT and Nazi propaganda material were discovered. On January 28, an arrest warrant was issued.

Two days before the warrant was issued, Mundlos, Bönhardt and Zshepe fled. At the same time, they create a group called the National Socialist Underground . It is assumed that between September 9, 2000 and April 27, 2007, Uwe Mundlos and Uwe Bönhardt committed 10 killings, on June 9, 2004, they carried out a terrorist attack on Koipstrasse in the Turkish district of Cologne , which resulted in 22 injuries, and between 6 On October 1999 and November 4, 2011 they committed 14 bank robberies in the cities of Chemnitz , Zwickau , Stralsund , Arnstadt and Eisenach ^{[1] [2]} .

On November 4, 2011 , at half past ten in the morning, Uwe Mundlos and Uwe Bönhardt drove motorcycles to the Wartburg Sparkasse branch at Nordplatz in Eisenach . Having entered the bank premises in masks, they hit the employee with a pistol in the head and took away 70,000 euros. After the robbery, they were spotted by a casual passerby and the police went on their trail. After a short shootout with special forces, Mundlos shot Bönhardt, then set fire to the trailer and committed suicide.
