Rodney Baxter ( February 8, 1940 ) is an Australian physicist specializing in statistical mechanics . He is well known for his work on exactly solvable models , in particular, vertex models such as the 6-vertex model , the 8-vertex model , the Potts chiral model, and the rigid hexagonal junction model.
