Physical Properties
Zincneodymium forms crystals of cubic system , space group P m3m , cell parameters a = 0.3667 nm, Z = 1, structure of the type of cesium chloride CsCl [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] .
The compound melts congruently at a temperature of 923 ° C [1] .
Forms two eutectics [1] :
- with a neodymium composition of 23.1 at.% zinc and a melting point of 630 ° C;
- with a zinc diod composition of 57.5 at.% zinc and a melting point of 868 ° C.
It is a paramagnetic with a Curie temperature Θ p = 30 K. At a temperature of 66 K, a transition to an antiferromagnetic state occurs [6] (70 K [7] ).
