History
Pingdu County (平度 县) existed during the Han Empire, but was subsequently disbanded. Under the Sui and Tang empires, Jiaoshui County (胶水 县) was located on this territory. Under the Ming Empire, the Pingdu area (平度 州) was created.
After the Xinhai Revolution in China, the administrative division structure was reformed, as a result of which the regions were abolished, and in 1913, Pingdu Province was transformed into a county.
In 1950, the Layan Special District (создан 专莱阳) was created, and the county became part of it. In 1956, the county was transferred to the Changwei Special District (区 专区), which in 1967 was renamed to Changwei District (昌潍 地区), and in 1981 to Weifang District (潍坊 地区). In 1983, Pingdu County was transferred to the jurisdiction of Qingdao.
In October 1989, Pingdu County was transformed into a city county.
Administrative division
The city county is divided into 4 street committees and 26 villages .
