Dzhemile-sultan ( tour. Cemile Sultan ; August 18, 1843 - February 7, 1915 ) is the daughter of the Ottoman sultan Abdul-Mejid from his ninth [1] wife .

Biography
She was born on August 18, 1843 in the palace of Beylerbeyi [2] in the family of the Ottoman sultan Abdul-Mejid and his ninth wife [3] . Cemil’s mother, Duzdidil, passed away when she was two years old. The girl’s childless seventh wife, Pirista Kadin Effendi, took up the upbringing of the girl [4] .
By order of the Sultan in was built for Cemil and her sister Münir . In 1858, Dzhemile was engaged to the son of , . Mahmoud was hastily elevated to the rank of vizier, and two months later the wedding took place [2] . Soon after the construction was completed, Gemile moved with her husband to her own palace. In this marriage two sons (twins Mehmed Mahmoud Jalaleddin and Ibrahim Sakib) and three daughters (Fethiye, Fatma, Aisha) were born [5] .
After the death of his father, Dzhemile, his brother, Abdul-Aziz , who favored Dzhemile, ascended the throne. Jemile's half-brother, Murad V , who succeeded him on the throne, ruled for only three months. The new sultan, Abdul-Hamid II , who was brought up with Dzhemile, sent Makhmud Jalaleddin Pasha in exile in 1881 , and ordered him executed three years later. Together with him, the sons of Dzhemile were executed. Dzhemile herself was forever removed from society, having settled in [3] .
Shortly before her death, Dzhemile visited her brother in the Yildiz palace. After this trip, she fell ill and was bedridden until her death [2] . Jemile died on February 7, 1915 . She was buried in the tomb of her father.
