Münire Sultan ( Turkish : Münire Sultan ; December 10, 1844 - 1862 ) is the daughter of the Ottoman sultan Abdul-Mejid from his fifth [1] wife .

Biography
Born December 10, 1844 in Topkapi in the family of the Ottoman sultan Abdul-Mejid and his fifth wife.
During the reign of Abdulmejid, a passion for Western music grew, and therefore Münir was taught to play the piano and lute [2] . Together with her court lady took private lessons in the palace. On the orders of her father, in was built for Münir and her sister Jemile .
Despite her young age, Münir managed to be married twice. The first marriage was with the son of the Khedive of Egypt Abbas Hilmi Ibrahim Hilmi [3] , but the next year he died. In 1861, Münir remarried and gave birth to a son, Alaeddin [4] .
Münir died in 1862 at the age of 17.5 years. She was buried in the tomb of Gulistan Munir Sultan in the Fatih Mosque [5] .
