Born in 1933 in Minsk. In 1956 he took part in the Olympic Games in Melbourne , but did not win any awards. In 1958, he won the bronze medal of the World Cup. At the 1959 World Cup he won a silver medal. In 1960, at the Olympic Games in Rome, he won the bronze medal in the team championship. In 1961 he won the gold medal of the world championship. At the 1962 World Cup, he again won the bronze medal.
