History
Initially, the palace was created as the house of the merchant, the first owner of the building. The second floor was added at the beginning of the sixteenth century, and the third is already the XIX century .
The palace got its name from the name of the Venetian traveler Alvise da Mosto , who was born in this palace in 1432 . The house remained in the possession of the da Mosto family until 1603 , when the then owner of the building, Chiara da Mosta, bequeathed it to his nephew, who bore a surname different from da Mosto.
From the XVI to the XVIII century , the palace housed the famous Albergo Leon Bianco Hotel ( White Lion Hotel ). In 1769 and 1775, the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, the son of Empress Maria Theresa Joseph II , stayed at the hotel during his stay in Venice.
Currently, the palace is not used, as during the floods, damage was caused to the base of the building. The palace needs restoration. The owner of the building is Count Francesco da Mosto, a modern Italian architect and producer. One of his goals in life is the restoration of the palace.
