Geography
Located on the Mira River, 14 km from the district center and 25 km from the Ardatov railway station.
History
The name of the traditional toponym (glade) is combined with the symbolism of the Soviet era (red), indicating the transformation in the village after the October Revolution. In the "List of Populated Places of Simbirsk Governorate" (1863), Krasny Polyany (Turgenevskiye Polyanka) is owned by the 29 yards of Alatyr uyezd . Belonged to the Turgenev family, from which the Decembrist N. I. Turgenev emerged (see Decembrists). In the 1930s. a branch of the state farm was established in the village, and since 1997 the agricultural revolutionary enterprise "Wave of Revolution". In the modern village - primary school, club, library, shop, medical center. Krasny Polyany - the birthplace of the sculptor E. M. Shalaeva.
