According to the United States Census Bureau , the county’s total area is 1,390.831 km 2 , of which 1,375,291 km 2 are land and 12,950 km 2 or 1,020% are water bodies.
Population
According to the 2010 census [1] , 59 916 residents of 20 628 households and 0 families live in the okrug. The population density is 43.10 people per km 2 . There are 22 827 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of about 16.40 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 60.40%, African - Americans - 32.80%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.60%, Asians - 0.50%, Hawaiians - 0.10%, representatives of other races - 3.90 %, representatives of two or more races - 1.70%. Hispanics accounted for 7.50% of the population, regardless of race .
As part of 31.00% of the total number of households , children under the age of 18 live. The average household size is 2.90.
