Distribution
Palearctic: North Africa, Eurasia (from Europe to the Far East) [1] .
Description
Small leaf- insect insects with hopping hind legs. They feed on plant juices, such as Sedge (family Cyperaceae , order Cyperales ), Juncus ( Juncaceae ), Picea abies ( Pinaceae ). The species was first described in 1789 by the German entomologist Franz Schrenk (Schrank F.) [1] [2] . Included in the genus Livia Latreille, 1802 together with the species L. bifasciata , L. coloradensis Crawford 1914 , L. crawfordi , L. fimbriata (Heslop-Harrison, 1949) , L. crefeldensis , L. khaziensis Heslop-Harrison, 1949 , L Limbata (Waga, 1842) , L. maculipennis (Fitch 1857) , L. marginata Patch 1912 , L. mediterranea Loginova, 1974 , L. mexicana Caldwell, 1944 , L. nigra Klimaszewski 1964 , L. ohioensis Caldwell 1938 , L. omissa (Heslop-Harrison, 1949) , L. opaqua Caldwell 1938 , L. vernaliforma Caldwell, 1940 , L. vernalis Fitch 1851 , and others [1] .
