According to the United States Census Bureau , the total area of the county is 1,556.592 km 2 , of which 1,541,052 km 2 are land and 15,540 km 2 or 1,050% are water bodies.
Population
According to the 2000 census [1] , 91,025 residents of 33,800 households and 24,099 families live in the okrug. The population density is 59.00 people per km 2 . There are 38 605 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of about 25.00 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 71.13%, African Americans - 22.50%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.87%, Asians - 0.65%, Hawaiians - 0.07%, representatives of other races - 3.21 %, representatives of two or more races - 1.57%. Hispanics accounted for 5.86% of the population, regardless of race .
Of the total number of households , 36.00% are children under the age of 18 years, 53.20% of households are married couples living together, 13.50% of households are single women without a spouse, 28.70% of households households are not related to families , 23.30% of households consist of one person, 8.50% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.61 people and the average family size is 3.07 people.
The age structure of the district: 27.00% under the age of 18, 10.60% from 18 to 24, 32.10% from 25 to 44, 19.90% from 45 to 64, and 19.90% from 65 and older.
