SCMP Group (南華 早報 集團) is one of Hong Kong 's largest publishing groups. Since 1971, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange ( SEHK : 0583 ). He publishes the daily English-language newspaper South China Morning Post , the Sunday application Sunday Morning Post and the Hong Kong versions of the magazines Cosmopolitan , Cosmogirl , Harper's Bazaar , Automobile , Maxim , Elle and InStyle , runs the news site scmp.com. SCMP Group is also engaged in the printing business, retail sales, advertising and real estate operations. Previously, the group operated a network of Daily Stop kiosks, which were located at metro stations and shopping centers (sold the business of retail corporation 7-Eleven ). History

The company was founded in 1903 when the first issue of the South China Morning Post came out. In 1971, it entered the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and acquired shares in the business newspapers Asian Wall Street Journal and Far Eastern Economic Review . In 1986, a controlling stake in SCMP Group was acquired by News Corporation of the Australian media magnate Rupert Murdoch (The sellers were The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and Hutchison Whampoa ). In 1987, News Corporation disposed of shares in the Asian Wall Street Journal and the Far Eastern Economic Review [5] .

In 1990, the holding company SCMP Group was registered in Bermuda, in 1992 the group bought the Chinese-language newspaper Wah Kiu Yat Po and a stake in the Thai company The Post Publishing Co (publishes the Bangkok Post and Post Today newspapers). In 1993-1994, the Kerry Group of Chinese-born Malay billionaire Robert Kuoka, who bought Murdoch’s stake, became a major shareholder in the SCMP Group. In 1995, the SCMP Group moved the printing factory and distribution center to Taipou County, selling its former headquarters in Quarry Bay to the Swire Group . In the same year, the publication of the Wah Kiu Yat Po [5] was discontinued.

In 1996, the South China Morning Post appeared on the Internet and acquired TVE (Holdings) Ltd, entering the entertainment and real estate market. In 2002, the SCMP Group sold its club and kindergarten business unit, in 2004 it sold the Daily Stop retail chain, and in 2008 it sold its music publishing company Capital Artists and its video business [5] .

As of 2011, the group controlled subsidiaries of Coastline International Limited, Lyton Investment Limited, Mai Xin Advertising Communications (Beijing) Co Ltd., Recruitment Consulting Networks Limited, SCMP Magazines Publishing (HK) Limited and others [6] . In 2013, the SCMP Group completed the acquisition of the Hong Kong subsidiary of Asia City Media Group , which published HK Magazine , The List, and Where Hong Kong [5] .
