According to the United States Census Bureau , the total area of the county is 1,906.242 km 2 , of which 1,869,982 km 2 is land and 33,670 km 2 or 1,800% are water bodies.
Interstate I-94 passes through the city.

According to the 2000 census [1] , there are 63 155 inhabitants in the district, consisting of 23 410 households and 16 948 families . The population density is 34.00 people per km 2 . There are 24,265 residential buildings on the territory of the district, with a building density of about 13.00 buildings per km 2 . The racial composition of the population: whites - 97.85%, African Americans - 0.28%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.25%, Asians - 0.62%, Hawaiians - 0.02%, representatives of other races - 0.22 %, representatives of two or more races - 0.76%. Hispanic was 0.76% of the population, regardless of race .
38.00% of the total number of households are children under the age of 18 years, 61.60% of households are married couples living together, 7.00% of households are single women without a spouse, 27.60% of households households are not related to families , 21.20% of households consist of one person, 7.30% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.66 people, and the average family size is 3.12 people.
