Malcolm Mowbray began his career as a television director, filming episodes for the series: Premiere , BBC2 Theater, Objects of Affection . In 1984, he began shooting the full-length film " Private Celebration ", a screenplay of which was co-written by Alan Bennett , for which he later won the Evening Standard British Film Awards for the best screenplay.
