Biography
Vladimir Tagiltsev was born on April 2, 1922 in Biysk . From an early age he worked first in the parent farm, then in the grain farm. After graduating from high school and flying club. In 1940 Tagiltsev was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1942, he graduated from the Omsk Military Aviation Pilot School. Since June 1943 - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
Towards the end of the Guards War, Senior Lieutenant Vladimir Tagiltsev commanded the link of the 161st Guards Bomber Air Regiment of the 8th Guards Bomber Air Division of the 6th Guards Bomber Air Corps of the 2nd Air Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front . By that time, he had made 163 sorties on aerial reconnaissance and bombardment of accumulations of military equipment and manpower, inflicting heavy losses on him [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 27, 1945 for “courage and heroism shown at the front of the struggle against the German invaders”, the guard senior lieutenant Vladimir Tagiltsev was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 7679 [1] .
In 1948, with the rank of captain Tagiltsev was transferred to the reserve, later he was awarded the rank of lieutenant colonel of the reserve. He lived and worked in various cities of the USSR. He died on February 6, 1982, was buried in the Slavic cemetery of Krasnodar [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner and World War 1 degree, a number of medals [1] .
