Biography

Konstantin Brankovich was born on May 25, 1814 in the city of Novi Sad in northern Serbia .

He was brought up in Prague and Szegedin , then studied theology in Karlovac and philosophy in Pest .

Upon graduation, Brankovic was first appointed a teacher of the gymnasium, and in 1854 a professor of philosophy at the Belgrade Lyceum ( Serbian. Beogradski Lyceum ) [1] . In this educational institution, he served four times as rector (1841/42, 1846/47, 1851-1853, and 1859-1863).

Konstantin Brankovich was one of the initiators of the creation of the Society of Serbian Literature ( Serb. Drushtvo sppske literature ), in which he was repeatedly elected secretary and vice president.

In philosophy, he adhered to German idealism ( Kant's critical idealism ).

Konstantin Brankovich died on November 22, 1865 in the city of Belgrade .
