Colligny is located 300 km east of Paris and 12 km east of Metz .
History
- Traces of an ancient Roman villa.
- The village was part of an enclave belonging to the Duchy of Lorraine on the territory of the bishopric of Metz. It was part of the Moselle lands.
- In 1792, Colligny received the status of a commune as a result of the revolution.
- Belonged to the lords Macleau, Balbo and Thomas de Colligny.
