The snake tick [1] ( lat. Ophionyssus natricis ) is a species of ticks from the Macronyssidae family of the order Mesostigmata . Meet everywhere. Ectoparasites of snakes harm in vivariums and terrariums around the world [2] [3] [4] .

Description
Small ticks, body length less than 1 mm (the length of the podnotum of females is 300 microns, width 276 microns). The subonotal disc is covered with 10 pairs of setae. They have only two dorsal scutes in females (large cephalothoracic and small rounded pygidial) and one in males. Parasites on snakes , found in vivariums and terrariums around the world [2] [3] .
