According to the 2000 census [1] , the district has 8,180 residents comprising 3,226 households and 2,225 families . The population density is 3.00 people per km 2 . In the district there are 3,562 residential buildings, with a building density of about 1.00 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 97.14%, African Americans - 0.43%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.33%, Asians - 0.27%, Hawaiians - 0.02%, representatives of other races - 0.95 %, representatives of two or more races - 0.86%. Hispanics made up 1.85% of the population, regardless of race .
Of the total number of households , 32.90% are children under the age of 18 years, 56.10% of households are married couples living together, 6.90% of households are single women without a spouse, 34.10% of households households are not related to families , 28.40% of households consist of one person, 11.70% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.45 and the average family size is 3.04.
