Career
Konstantin Sivtsov came to prominence after winning the Under-World Championship (racers under 23 years old) in the group race, where the Belarusian was ahead of Thomas Decker from the Netherlands and Dane Mads Christensen . This success allowed him to sign a contract with the Italian team of the top division Fassa Bortolo . However, the team ceased to exist the next year and Konstantin moved to Acqua & Sapone . As part of this team in 2006, he became the champion of Belarus in the group race.
In 2007, the cyclist signed a contract with Barloworld , which included such results as: second place at Giro dell'Appennino and third place at Tre Valli Varesine and GP Città di Camaiore. And also in July, for the first time took part in the most prestigious cycling race - Tour de France, where he took 32nd place in the general classification.
These successes attracted the attention of Team High Road team managers, who concluded a contract with him. In April 2008, Konstantin won at stage 6 of the Georgia Tour - a multi-day race on the roads of the United States and received a yellow leader's jersey. According to the results of the race, he retained the leadership and won the overall standings of the stage race. At the Tour de France 2008, Belarus took 16th place.
At the 2009 Giro d'Italia, Konstantin celebrated two victories: first with Team Columbia-High Road in the team time trial, and then won a personal victory with a solo attack at stage 8.
2011 is the most successful year in Sivtsov’s career. He took tenth place in the general classification of the Giro d'Italia and again with the team excelled in the team time trial. At the Belarusian Championship, Konstantin won the gold medal in the race with a separate start.
With the end of the 2011 season, the Team Columbia-High Road team ceased to exist due to sponsorship problems and the Belarusian signed a contract with the British project Sky Procycling . As part of this team, he established himself as a good gregori. The rider was part of the team when Richie Port won Volta Algarve , Bradley Wiggins won Paris-Nice, the Tour of Romandia and Criterium do Dauphine , and Michael Rogers won the Bayern-Rundfahrt. Sivtsov passed the selection and started on the Tour de France in 2012 as one of the main assistants to Bradley Wiggins , but fell and was forced to leave with a fracture of his left leg .
In 2013, Sivtsov won a solo victory in the second stage of the Giro del Trentino , for the second time in his career he won the race with a separate start at the Championship of Belarus. And at the 2013 World Road Racing Championship in Italian Florence, together with Sky Procycling teammates, he won a bronze medal in the team time trial.
