Yuri Mikhailovich Braider ( August 1, 1948 , Orsha , Vitebsk region - February 8, 2007 ) is a Belarusian science fiction writer who co-authored with Nikolai Chadovich . Laureate of the genre award “Sword of Rumata” (1999), laureate of the State Prize of the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic (for the novel “Arrows of Perun”), member of the Literary Jury of the prize “Wanderer” . Repeated laureate of the “Wanderer” prize, including in the genre nomination “Sword of Rumata”.

Born in 1948 in the Belarusian city of Orsha (Vitebsk region) , after graduating from the Minsk College of Communications, he worked in the Ministry of Internal Affairs , rose to the rank of militia major . Since 1994 - retired.
The first joint publication with Nikolai Chadovich is The Intruder (1983).
