History

The time of the establishment of the diocese is unknown, but the apostle Paul and the apostle Barnabas preached on its territory in the first century.

During the Byzantine period of Antioch of Pisidia (Pisidia, Asia Minor), it was the center of the metropolis of Pisidia of Antioch (ιισιδίαὁ ὁ Ἀντιοχείας). According to the Tacticon VII. The Metropolitan Office included the following Bishops

From 1575, due to the desolation of the Dioceses of Mirlikiy, Sidskaya, and Pergiy, they were incorporated into the Pisidian Metropolis, and the Metropolitan of Pisidia, until 1923, was titled as Hypertim and Exarch of Lycia, Sidi, Mir, Antalya and Little Antioch. The cathedral was the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Mother of God.

In 1924, due to the exchange of the Greek and Turkish populations between Turkey and Greece, the department actually ceased to exist and became the titular category.
