I-68 ( Interstate 68 ) is an interstate highway in the United States of America with a length of 113.15 miles (182.1 km). It passes through the territory of two states. From 1965 to 1991 it was designated as US 48 .

Highway Route
West Virginia
The western end of the highway is located at exit 148 Interstate 79 . Slightly east of I-68 crosses US 119 , then, turning northeast, with WV 43 . After that, the highway passes by the Cheat Lake Reservoir. Once in Preston County, I-68 passes near the Coopers Rock State Forest . At Bruston Mills, I-68 crosses the WV 26 connecting US 50 with Pennsylvania .
Maryland
In Garrett County, I-68 passes mostly through non-urban areas. In Kaisers Ridge, the trunk is connected to US 40 and US 219 . Five kilometers east of Grantsville, US 219 moves north from I-68 to the north, to Pennsylvania, while Interstate 68 and US 40 continue heading east to Allegheny County . Here, the highway runs through the highlands of Allegan . Cumberland has the busiest stretch of I-68. Upon leaving the city, the highway passes near Rocky Gap State Park . Crossing several ridges, it enters the territory of the Green Ridge State Forest . 6 km after crossing the Sidling Hill Ridge, Interstate 68 ends at the intersection with I-70 .
