Half-submerged hornberry , or Underwater hornberry, Light green hornberry [2] ( lat. Ceratophyllum submersum ) is a species of dicotyledonous plants of the family Corogulidae ( Ceratophyllaceae ). The plant was first described in 1763 by a Swedish taxonist Carl Linnaeus [3] [4] .

Distribution and habitat
Widely distributed in Europe , it is also found in Asia ( Kazakhstan ) and Africa ( Cameroon , Chad , Kenya , Nigeria , Tanzania ).
It grows in lakes, ponds and ditches. It carries salt water [5] .
Botanical description
Submerged bright green perennial plant.
The leaves are segmented, soft, filiform.
The flowers are small, green [6] .
Security Notes
The disappearance of wetlands leads to the loss of some subpopulations. In Estonia and Switzerland, semi-submerged romanet is classified as endangered. However, according to the data of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the species does not require conservation measures (status “LC”); the total population is stable [5] .
