Biography
In 1928, in the village of Therapy on the Bosphorus . He received his general education at schools of the Megalo Revma and Vlang communities. In 1949 he graduated from the Zografia Gymnasium, and in 1953 - the Halka Theological School [1] .
In the same year, he was ordained a deacon and accepted into the service of the Patriarchate of Constantinople as secretary-referent of the department for spiritual ministry [1] .
In 1957, he became the clerk of the Holy Synod , and in 1958, he became the second deacon of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. In 1965 he was elevated to the rank of great archdeacon .
He accompanied the patriarchs of Athenagoras , Demetrius and Bartholomew on official trips and pastoral visits abroad. He was an employee of the periodicals of the Patriarchate of Constantinople - Ορθοδοξία and Απόστολος δνδρέας, served as secretary, coordinator and member of the Synodal Commissions for inter-Christian and inter-Orthodox issues, was part of various official delegations [1] .
He was elected on November 26, 1970, and ordained bishop on November 30 and elevated to the rank of titular Metropolitan of Perga. In November 9, 1976 he was named acting Metropolitan.
The author of a number of works, among which the most remarkable: “Εκ Φαναρίου ...” (1968), “Λαός Χάριτος” (1973), “Εκ Φαναρυου Β ', Αειδίνητον Όφλημα” (1997); historical studies “Η Πέργη της Παμφυλίας” (1983), “Ισίδωρος οηλουσιώτης” (analysis of his correspondence, 1993) and his poetic collections: “Αφιέρωμα στην Πόλη” (1970), “ίτ [2] .
In 1983, at the University of Aristotle in Thessaloniki, received a doctorate in theology [1] .
He was one of the founders and until his death - the honorary chairman of the Society of music lovers of Istanbul [2] .
He died on May 22, 2018 in a hospital in Istanbul after a long illness [2] .
