1981 - The brand was founded by former journalist for the Dauphiné Libéré newspaper, Bernard Lengellé [12] , who revived the recipe for traditional Marseille soap (possibly according to a 1921 prescription) and began selling it at Vaucluse pharmacies [13] . The brand developed rapidly, soon shower gels ( 1989 ), liquid soap ( 1992 ) [13] , bath foam, baby products (by 1998 ) [14] , shampoos ( 2003 ) [5] [ 15] .
Explaining the “formula” of Le Petit Marseillais brand, Stéphanie Perrouty notes that it includes “moments of pleasure and care” as well as smell characteristics ( “delicate fruity notes”, “delicate fresh notes”, “intense gourmet accents "," Fruit notes for gourmets " , etc.) [16] .
The brand is associated with naturalness, Provence and unique combinations of smells, such as “apple-kiwi”, “peach-apricot”, “cherry-almond” [14] .
