Biography
Born October 12, 1948 in Madrid . The eldest son of Maria del Rosario Caetana Alfonza Victoria Eugenia Francis Fitz-James Stewart and Silva (1926–2014), the 18th Duchess of Alba from her first marriage with Luis Martinez de Irujo i Artascosa (1919-1972), the son of Pedro Martinez de Irujo and Artascosa (1882-1957), the 9th Duke of Sotomayor, and Anna Maria de Artascos (1892-1930).
Since April 1954, Carlos Fitz-James Stuart has been holding the title of 14th Duke of Huescar .
He was educated at the University of Madrid , where he received a degree in law. He currently works as president in several cultural institutions, such as the Hispania Nostra Foundation and the Valencia de Don Institute.
After his mother's death, he became the 19th Duke of Alba , inheriting about 50 titles and their respective estates, among them - huge tracts of land in the province of Cordoba , known as El Carpio . Fitz-James Stuart, 63, worked with his mother as a family investment manager and companies, including Inversiones Princesa , EUROTECNICA AGRARIA , Euroexplotaciones Agrarias , Agrotecsa , Agralsa and Castrofresno .
The patron of the Foundation of the House of Alba , is the Cavalier of the Grand Cross of Justice of the Holy Military Constantine of the Order of St. George.
Family and Children
On June 13, 1988, in the Seville Cathedral, the 40-year-old Duke of Huescar married Matilda de Solis-Beaumont and Martinez-Campos (born June 13, 1963 ), the daughter of Fernando de Solis-Beaumont, 10th Marquis de Motilla, and his wife Isabelle Martinez Campos, daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Seo de Urgell. In marriage, they had two sons:
