Creativity

At the initial stage of the artist, one can see the influence of a severe style with its own original innovative style, manifested in a series of linocuts "People of the North" (1963, 1966) and in such canvases as " Sespel " (1968), dedicated to the workdays of the era. In the subsequent paintings, Fedorov depicts important events of our time: space exploration in the films “Celebration in the Shorsheli ” (1974) and “ Icarus of the 20th Century” (1974), the construction of industrial enterprises and gas pipelines - on canvases “Change. On Tractor Construction ”,“ Track ”,“ Interview on the Track ”(1982), labor in agriculture -“ Fresco on Bread ”(1985). Many of the artist’s paintings of this period are based on a combination of portraiture and landscape ; the restrained palette resembles fresco painting .

In the late 1980s, the artist writes numerous paintings dedicated to outstanding compatriots - residents of Chuvashia: “Portrait of the composer G. Hirby ” (1985), “Contemplation. K.V. Ivanov and Narspi "(1987)," Sespel. My life, beyond what hills ... ”(1989), portrait of V. Rodionova (1989).

At the end of the 20th — beginning of the 21st centuries, Fedorov turned to philosophical and historical topics. “ Cain's Swing” (1998) - a picture showing human tragedy.

In the early 2000s, paints become fresher, a new plastic structure appears. The artist writes canvases on historical, mythological, religious topics: " Eve " (2001), " Antigone " (2003), "Gone with the Wind. Sylby ”and“ Crossroads ”from the cycle“ Milestones of Russia as Living Wounds of Russia ”(2005),“ The Centaur Comes to the Wedding ”(2008). Fedorov creates canvases in which national motifs, canons of ancient Russian painting and classical examples of Antiquity and the Renaissance merge.
