Diving is a simple aerobatics figure consisting in a steep, rectilinear (or close to rectilinear) unsteady descent of an airplane with angles of inclination of the trajectory of more than 30 Β° and a variable speed at small angles of attack of the wing (the movement of the airplane along an inclined path of 30 to 90 Β° to the horizon). Diving with a tilt angle of 90 Β° is called sheer [1] . Diving is a negative pitch (with a decrease in the nose angle of the aircraft), that is, the opposite of pitching is a positive pitch (with an increase in the nose angle).

Application
Diving is used to quickly disperse an aircraft by losing its altitude and gaining speed exceeding the maximum horizontal flight speed, and also as an element of curly flight and maneuvering (more often - defensive maneuvering) in aerial combat, as well as during shooting and bombing on ground targets , since low height significantly reduces the effectiveness of air defense systems .
Dive in and out
Entering an aircraft into a dive is done using the elevator . Entry into the dive can be made from horizontal flight, with a roll when the aircraft roll to 90 Β° and from the coup. The withdrawal from the dive begins at a certain height, guaranteeing flight safety, and a speed lower than the maximum speed of the dive. The minimum radius of curvature of the trajectory of the exit from the dive, as a rule, is limited by the overload carried by the pilot, or the ultimate strength of the structure.
