Biography
Trofimov Nikolai Leontyevich was born on September 19, 1922 in a peasant family in the village of Ignatievskie Vyselki, Moscow province (now Serpukhov district ). Russian In 1936 he graduated from the Nekhoroshevsky rural school, in 1939 - Serpukhov rabbi faculty named after M. Gorky and flying club. Member of the Komsomol since 1937. In the Red Army since 1939.
Pre-war period
In 1939 he entered, and in 1940 he graduated from the Kachin Military Aviation Pilot School . He served as an instructor pilot.
During the war
When the war began, he asked for the front, but continued to serve as an instructor. Member of the war on August 10, 1942 [1] . Junior Lieutenant Trofimov - pilot 84 “a” of the fighter regiment of the 216th fighter aviation division [1] . He flew on an I-153 airplane.
September 17, 1942 slightly injured in the neck and thigh.
On September 27, 1942, he was seriously wounded in the right foot [1] [2] .
By order of the Military Council of the Transcaucasian Front No. 49 / n dated November 14, 1942, junior lieutenant Trofimov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner for 73 sorties on an I-153 aircraft for attacking enemy troops, personally destroying 2 tanks, 8 vehicles, 6 anti-aircraft machine-gun points, 3 anti-aircraft guns and having damaged 8 tanks, 12 vehicles, 2 ZPT, 2 anti-aircraft guns, and 22 air battles.
Until May 1943 he served in the 84th “A” fighter aviation regiment. In May 1943 he was transferred to the 16th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment . He flew on the P-39 "AeroCobra . " He flew with Pokryshkin A.I. , acting as the leading cover group.

By order of the Military Council of the 8th Air Army of the 4th Ukrainian Front, No. 53 / n of October 31, 1943, senior pilot of the 16th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment of the Guard, Lieutenant Trofimov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner for 44 sorties, 3 enemy aircraft shot down and the failure of bombers enemy in the amount of 60 pieces in the area of Krinichka station on August 23, 1943, shooting down 1 Yu-87 [3] .
By order of the Military Council of the 8th Air Army of the 4th Ukrainian Front No. 17 / n dated March 27, 1944, the commander of the 16th Guards IAP Guard Lieutenant Trofimov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner for 82 combat missions and 4 personally shot down enemy aircraft [4] .
By order of the Military Council of the 2nd Air Army No. 298 / n dated October 22, 1944, the squadron commander of the 16th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment, Senior Lieutenant Trofimov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner for 61 sorties, 13 air battles and 6 personally shot down enemy aircraft [5] .
By March 1945, the squadron commander of the 16th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment ( 9th Guards Fighter Aviation Division , 6th Guards Fighter Aviation Corps , 2nd Air Army , 1st Ukrainian Front ) guards captain N. L. Trofimov 341 sorties, in 72 air battles personally shot down 14 and in a group of 11 enemy aircraft. He was introduced to the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. He fought on the Transcaucasian , North Caucasian , Southern , 4th Ukrainian , 2nd Ukrainian and 1st Ukrainian fronts [6] .
By order of the Military Council of the 2nd Air Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front No. 100 / n dated April 25, 1945, the Guard Captain Trofimov was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree for 47 successful sorties, 2 air battles, 1 personally shot down enemy aircraft -190, excellent mastery of radio communications and obtaining the qualification of "master of air radio communications" [7] .
By order of the Military Council of the 2nd VA of the 1st Ukrainian Front No. 189 / n dated May 13, 1945, the Guard Captain Trofimov was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky for performing 41 successful sorties, 4 air battles, and 1 during the Berlin operation during the storming of Berlin. downed enemy aircraft [8] .
By the end of the war, it completed 387 successful sorties. After 75 air battles, shot down 15 enemy aircraft in person and 11 in the group. The war ended in the skies of Berlin as a squadron commander of the 16th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment of the 9th Guards Fighter Aviation Division of the 6th Guards Fighter Aviation Corps of the 2nd Air Army. June 27, 1945 for courage and military valor shown in battles with enemies, was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union [9] .
After the war
Participant in the Victory Parade on Red Square in 1945. In 1950 he graduated from the Air Force Academy . Retrained in jet aircraft. He flew on the MiG-15bis . Member of the armed conflict in Korea since August 1950. Until February 1951, he served as deputy flight commander of the 72nd Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment (151st fighter aviation division of the 64th Fighter Aviation Corps ). He did not have victories in the war in Korea. Subsequently, he commanded a regiment, division, aircraft of the air defense army in Minsk. In 1958 he was awarded the title of Major General of Aviation . In 1959 he graduated with honors and a gold medal from the Military Academy of the General Staff . He served in senior positions in the Air Force.
Since 1982, Lieutenant General Aviation N. L. Trofimov - in stock. He lived in Moscow . He died on March 1, 1998. He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow.

Departing on a combat mission consisting of 6 crews of the R-39 AeroCobra , guarded by Lieutenant Trud A.I. , in the Krinichka area they met 60 Ju-87 and He-111 , covered by 20 Me-109 . An unequal air battle ensued. Maneuvering his aircraft, the guard, Lieutenant Trofimov crashed into the system of enemy bombers and shot down one Ju-87 , which fell in flames in the Krinichka area. As a result of the bold actions of the fighters, enemy bombers dropped bombs in the field and turned back to their airfield [2] .
