Ship Description

Sailing corvette, one of the four corvettes of the same type. According to various sources, the length of the vessel ranged from 33.53 to 33.6 meters , the width from 9.14 to 9.5 meters, and the draft from 3.18 to 3.8 meters. The armament of the ship consisted of 16/18 guns. The second of the corvettes of this type, which was called "Kazan", the first was built in 1807 [1] [2] [3] .

Service History

The Kazan corvette was laid in 1815 in the Kazan Admiralty and, after launching on March 11, 1816, became part of the Caspian Flotilla of Russia . The construction was carried out by shipbuilder A.P. Antipiev [1] [2] .

In 1817, it was transferred from Kazan to Astrakhan by internal routes. The following year, went on a practical voyage to the Caspian Sea . From 1819 to 1821 he took part in the military research expedition of N. N. Muravyov-Kars to the Turkmen [4] coast of the Caspian Sea [3] . From 1822 to 1826 he again went on a practical voyage to the Caspian Sea [2] .

The corvette was dismantled in Astrakhan in 1827 [1] [2] .
