Hernán Dario Gómez Jaramillo ( Spanish Hernán Darío Gómez Jaramillo ; February 3, 1956 , Medellin ), also known as El Bolillo ( Spanish El Bolillo ) is a former Colombian footballer , now a football coach. From 2014 to 2018, he led the Panama national team , leading it to the 2018 World Cup .

Club career
Hernan Dario Gomez acted as a football player for the Colombian clubs Independiente Medellin (from 1975 to 1980) and Atletico Nacional (from 1980 to 1984). As part of Atletico Nacional, Gomez became the champion of Colombia in 1981 .
Coaching career
Hernan Dario Gomez as head coach won the Colombia Championship in 1991 . He also led the Colombian national team at the American Football Cups in 1995 and 1997 , and also led the Colombians to the final tournament of the 1998 World Cup in France, where the team under his leadership could not leave the group, having won the only victory over the national team of Tunisia (1: 0). Having headed Ecuador’s national team in 1999, Gomez managed to bring her to the finals of the World Cup for the first time [1] . In the 2002 tournament itself, Gomez again failed to overcome the group stage barrier with his team, having also won the only victory over the Croatian national team (1: 0). After the unsuccessful performance of Ecuador at the America's Cup 2004, Gomez left his post in the national team.
On May 5, 2010, Gomez was again appointed as head coach of the Colombian national team. After the incident of August 6, 2011, when Gomez attacked a woman near a pub in Bogota [2] , he was forced to resign as head coach of the national team despite his subsequent apologies.
On February 15, 2014, Gomez was appointed head coach of the Panama national team . Under his leadership, the Panamanians entered the World Cup for the first time in their history, but lost all the matches in the final stage, and Hernan Dario Gomez resigned. After that, Gomez became the head coach of the Ecuador national team.
