Tom Ewell ( born Tom Ewell ; born Samuel Ewell Tompkins, April 29, 1909 , Owensboro - September 12, 1994 , Los Angeles) - an American actor who starred in several Hollywood films, theatrical productions and television series.

The most famous role played by Tom Ewell was in the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch directed by Billy Wilder , starring Marilyn Monroe . He also participated in the theatrical version, which appeared on Broadway 750 times before the release of the film, and for which he received the Tony Award in 1953 for Best Actor.
Tom Ewell made his debut in the theater in 1934, and in the cinema - in 1940. In 1960-1961, he had his own program, "Tom Ewell Shows," which appeared 32 times. His most recent work was a small role on the series She Wrote Murder (1986 series).
