Ship Description

Sailing corvette, the length of the vessel was 50.3 meters , the width, according to various sources, was from 13.13 to 13.2 meters, and the draft was from 6.25 to 6.3 meters. The armament of the vessel was 30 guns, and the crew consisted of 380 people. The ship was named in honor of Field Marshal I.F. Paskevich , who commanded the Russian troops during the suppression of the Polish uprising and received the title of His Grace Prince Warsaw [1] [2] .

Service History

The corvette was purchased in Philadelphia in 1830 and, under the name "Prince of Warsaw", became part of the Baltic Fleet of Russia [1] [2] .

In 1832, he sailed to Rostock , after which he cruised off the island of Bornholm as part of a detachment. As part of the detachments, he went on practical voyages to the Baltic Sea in 1833, 1837, 1850, 1851 and 1852. As part of the squadron of Vice Admiral P.I. Rikord, in July 1835 he took part in the transport of a detachment of the Guards Corps from Kronstadt to Danzig , and in September of the same year back to Kronstadt. In 1836, from 1838 to 1842, as well as in 1845 and 1846, he was in the detachment of F.P. Litke , in which he took part in the voyages for the sea practice of Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolaevich . Including: in 1836 and from 1838 to 1842, he was sailing between the ports of the Baltic Sea, and from October 10, 1845 to June 23, 1846, he was sailing on the route Kronstadt - Copenhagen - Plymouth - Gibraltar - Palermo - Naples - Toulon - Algeria - Gibraltar - Lisbon - Portsmouth - Copenhagen - Kronstadt. In June 1844 he traveled from Kronstadt to the shores of Denmark , after which he joined the squadron coming from Arkhangelsk , in which he returned to Kronstadt. On July 3, 1853, he took part in the Highest Fleet Review at the Kronstadt Raid, and on July 15, in maneuvers. In August and September 1853 went on a cruise in the Baltic Sea as part of a squadron [2] .

He took part in the Crimean War . In 1854 and 1855, he held a position on the Northern Channel to protect the island of Kotlin as part of a blocky detachment . In 1856, he was at the Kronstadt raid as part of a squadron, and on July 23 took part in the Highest Review. In 1857 and 1858 he carried out a military service at the Kronstadt roadstead, after which he was in port. September 11, 1863, the corvette was removed from the lists of ships and in the same year it was flooded in Kronstadt [1] [2] .
