Wonchukhan

In the north, Wonchukhan borders with Aberdeen , in the northeast - with Deep Water Bay , in the east it is washed by the waters of Deep Water Bay, in the west - by the waters of Taishuvan Bay. Opposite the western coast of the Wonchukhan Peninsula is the island of Appleichau .

In the Honchukhan district, there is the Tayvonye Temple.

The district’s economy is based on the Hong Kong Ocean Park (Ocean Park Hong Kong, 香港 海洋 公園), opened in 1977. It is one of Hong Kong’s two most popular amusement parks (along with Disneyland) and Namlonshan Mountain (Namlonsan) is divided into two parts - Waterfront Ocean Park and Summit Ocean Park. The park has attractions, an aquarium, aquariums, a zoo, an observation tower, restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops, and various show programs are in operation ^[1] . In 2013, the Ocean Park was visited by almost 7.5 million people ^[2] .

In addition, in the north, the district borders on the office-industrial zone of Wonchukhan. There are several high-rise residential complexes in the area, for example, South Wave Court (1995), Broadview Court (2001) and Marinella, several supermarkets, and a food market on Namlonshan Road.

A network of bus routes runs through the area (including minibuses). There are several taxi rank. The Wonchukhan and Ocean Park metro stations are under construction on the South Island line (the construction of the Wonchukhan station and depot is carried out on the site of the demolished Wong Chuk Hang Estate residential complex in 2007) ^[3] . Aberdeen Marina Club and several ferry piers are located on the coast.

A bridge connecting Aberdeen and Apleichau Island passes over the northwestern part of the Wonchukhan district. Two parts of the Ocean Park are interconnected by cable car and the Ocean Express funicular. Due to significant differences in elevations, the park has the second largest outdoor escalator in Hong Kong.

Aberdeen Marine Police Base is located on the coast of the bay.

Hong Kong Police College with a large training base ^[4] , Singapore International School ^[5] and Canadian International School ^[6] , Holy Spirit Catholic Seminary ^[7] , Shanghai Victoria Academy, and Marykow School are based in the area.

Wonchukhan is home to Namlon Hospital, the Jockey Club Rehab Complex, the Jockey Club Cancer Rehabilitation Center, and the Hong Kong Juvenile Care Center.

In the area there are Aberdeen Marina Club sports center (hockey, ice skating, yoga, tai chi, swimming and judo), Paoyuekon swimming pool, Hong Kong country club golf club.
