“Sword and Feather” ( azerb. Qılınc və qələm, Gylynҹ və gәlәm ) is a historical novel written in 1946 - 1948 [2] by Mamed Said Ordubadi in an adventure style [3] . The action of the novel takes place in the Middle Ages in the territory of the modern Republic of Azerbaijan . Events mainly unfold in the Ganja of the 11th-12th centuries - the Atabek period of Azerbaijan . The main characters of the work are the outstanding classic of Persian poetry Nizami Ganjavi , one of the greatest poets and thinkers of the Middle Ages, and his close friend Fakhraddin, a talented commander and protector [4] . The character of friends characterizes the name of the novel - “Sword and Feather”.
