History
The Cathedral of the Three Saints in Sovetsk was built over 7 years.
The five-domed Church was consecrated in honor of the Orthodox holiday - the Cathedral of the Three Hierarchs ( Basil the Great , Gregory the Theologian , John Chrysostom ).
In the Kaliningrad region, this church became the second largest after the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Kaliningrad .
The church was built in the Byzantine-Russian style of the beginning of the XIX century, is clearly visible from many points of Sovetsk.
The temple was founded on May 5, 2000, and on November 5, 2007 the cathedral was consecrated by Metropolitan Cyril of Smolensk and Kaliningrad. Governor George Boos also attended the consecration ceremony.
