Maleev, Alexander Ivanovich

Alexander Ivanovich Maleev (born July 7, 1947 , Voronezh , RSFSR , USSR ) is a former Soviet gymnast , silver medalist of the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , an international master of sports . He introduced a new original element into the floor exercises - the “ flag ”.

Biography

Born July 7, 1947 in Voronezh .

Gymnastics began to engage in 10 years.

In 1969 he became the absolute champion of the RSFSR. In 1971 he became the champion of the USSR, the silver medalist of the V Spartakiad of the peoples of the USSR in all-around, the champion of the V Spartakiad of the peoples of the USSR in floor exercises and the winner of the Norwegian Bergen Cup.

In 1972, at the XX Summer Olympic Games, he became the silver medalist in the team championship. His best achievement at the Olympic Games in the individual championship was 14th on the floor.

From 1970 to the present moment lives in Minsk.
