There are 43,261 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of about 26.50 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 80.50%, African Americans - 77.80%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 11.60%, Asians - 0.50%, Hawaiians - 2.00%, representatives of other races - 0.20 %, representatives of two or more races - 1.50%. Hispanics accounted for 5.00% of the population, regardless of race .
Of the total number of households , 37.20% are children under the age of 18 years, 53.30% of households are couples living together, 12.90% of households are single women without a spouse, 4.70% of households households are not related to families , 24.50% of households consist of one person, 8.00% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone.
