According to the United States Census Bureau , the county’s total area is 2,152,292 km 2 , of which 2,131.572 km 2 are land and 8,000 km 2 or 0.960% are water bodies.

According to the 2000 census [1] , 1,934 residents of 797 households and 545 families live in the okrug. The population density is 1.00 people per km 2 . There are 935 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of less than 1.00 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 93.59%, African - Americans - 0.21%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 1.40%, Asians - 0.47%, Hawaiians - 0.00%, representatives of other races - 2.79 %, representatives of two or more races - 1.55%. Hispanics made up 4.86% of the population, regardless of race .
Of the total number of households , 29.90% are children under the age of 18, 58.50% of households are married couples living together, 6.50% of households are single women without a spouse, and 31.50% of households households are not related to families , 28.70% of households consist of one person, 14.10% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone.
