Shizhong ( Chinese р 中 , pinyin : Shìzhōng , literally: “inside the city borders”) is an area of urban subordination of the city of sub-provincial significance of Jinan , Shandong Province ( PRC ).

History
In 1904, a commercial port was officially established in these places. In 1908 and 1926 its territory was expanded.
In 1929, the city of Jinan was officially formed, and in these places the Jinan outer district No. 3 and port districts No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 were created.
When Jinan was captured by the Japanese in 1938, the Outer West District, the Port East Region and the Port Central District were established in these places.
In 1948, the administrative-territorial division of Jinan was changed, and District No. 5 was created in these places. In 1954, it was renamed Region No. 4.
In 1955, Jinan was divided into 5 large areas. Since this area was located between the other four, it was called “Shizhong”.
