Biography
Early years
Rebecca Louise Ferguson Sundstrom was born on October 19, 1983 in Vasastan , Stockholm, Sweden. Her mother, Rosemary, is an Englishwoman who moved to Sweden at the age of 25 [3] ; father is a Swede. Rebecca has three brothers and sisters. In 1999, she graduated from the music school of Adolf Fredricks [4] .
From the age of 13, Rebecca has been working as a model in magazines, as well as acting in commercials.
After the success of her series and the birth of her son, Rebecca moved with her boyfriend to Simrishamn on the south coast of Sweden. There she launched an Argentinean dance studio and worked in several short films [5] .
Career
Ferguson starred as Anna Gripenhelm in the TV series New Times and later played Chrissy in the Swedish-American TV series Ocean Prospect.
Swedish director Richard Hobert noticed her on the city market in 2011 and offered Rebecca the main role in his film "One-Way Antibes" [6] . Then Ferguson starred in the horror film “The Spirit of the Drowned” and the film “We” with Gustaf Skarsgård [7] [8] .
In August 2012, it was announced that Rebecca had a casting and was cast as Elizabeth Woodville in the BBC’s 10-episode historical drama The White Queen , based on Philippe Gregory ’s novel The Cousins War, which tells the history of the women of the War of the Roses [10] . The role in the "White Queen" was positively accepted by critics [11] , brought Ferguson fame and nomination for the Golden Globe Award .
In 2015, Ferguson played one of the main roles in the American film “ Mission Impossible: The Outcast Tribe ” [12] [13] .
Personal life
Rebecca has two children - a son Isak (born 2007) from a former boyfriend Ludwig Hallberg (met in 2005-2015) [14] and a daughter Saga (born 2018) [15] from her husband Rory (married in January 2019) [16] .
